After Dark is your chance to turn the dial up and explore a side of yourself you might not get to bring out very often.

There’s a reason the bedroom set is a staple in almost every bo***ir session. 😌

It’s the comfort of the bed itself, the intimacy of those dark walls surrounding you, and the feeling of power that comes from being the ONLY center of attention in that room.

But I think there’s something else that makes this set hit differently...

There’s no complicated set to figure out, no character you’re supposed to become. You can stretch out, get comfortable, let your guard down a little, and suddenly we start capturing these little moments where you’re not TRYING to look confident or sexy anymore.

You just are. 🔥

And after hundreds of women in front of my camera, I genuinely can’t think of a single client who has shot in the bedroom set and DIDN’T end up choosing a whole bunch of those images.

They’re classic.
They’re sexy.
They’re timeless.

But most importantly, they still feel like YOU. 🤍

Why are we SO good at imagining the worst-case scenario... but almost never the best one? 😂

Not everyone looks good in pink and you know what... that’s kinda the point.

I’ve helped hundreds of women choose their outfits over the years, pulling pieces from my 400+ item client closet, trying different colors, cuts, textures, and styles until we find the ones that make you go, “OH. Okayyyy. 👀”

And honestly? I LOVE when something looks incredible on one woman and completely different on another.

Because you’re a one-of-one, babe.

Your body, your skin tone, your curves, your style, your energy... they’re uniquely YOURS. So why would I expect the exact same lingerie to work for everybody?

That’s why I’m not just going to hand you a bodysuit and send you on your way. 😂

As much as I love being your photographer, I also get to play personal stylist for the day.

We’ll dig through the closet, try things on, experiment a little, and figure out exactly what makes YOU look and feel incredible.

And trust me... we’ll find it. 😉

The women who walk into my studio don’t get nearly enough credit for how much courage it takes to get here. 🤍

They KNOW this isn’t an everyday experience.

They know the nerves are probably going to show up while picking outfits, driving to the studio, and maybe even right up until the second they walk through my doors.

And yet... they still click that “BOOK NOW” button.

Because somewhere underneath those nerves is a little voice saying, “Life is way too short to keep being afraid.”

Too short to keep hiding parts of yourself.

Too short to wait until you lose the weight, feel more confident, hit some milestone, or magically wake up one morning without an insecurity in sight.

So to every woman I haven’t met yet who will eventually walk through my doors this year...

I hope you know that once you’re here, the day is about YOU.

Your comfort. Your confidence. Your vision. Your experience.

I respect the hell out of the courage it took to get here, and I’m going to do everything I can to give you the bo***ir experience you’ve been dreaming about.

An era where you stop apologizing for taking up space.

Where you wear the outfit you’ve been saving.

Where you say what you actually want.

Where you stop making yourself smaller just to make everyone else a little more comfortable.

And maybe, just maybe, you start doing a few things simply because they make YOU feel good. 🤍

That’s exactly who this studio was made for.

Women who are ready to celebrate themselves as they are right now. Women who want to reconnect with the confident, sexy, loud, soft, badass parts of themselves that might’ve gotten buried underneath work, motherhood, relationships, responsibilities, and taking care of everyone else.

As we wrap up our very first year of Velvet Vixens, I can’t help but look back at this group of women and feel SO incredibly proud. 🤍

What started as bringing a group of women together for some beautiful photos turned into something so much bigger. A little sisterhood full of encouragement, ridiculous amounts of laughter, cheering each other on, and watching confidence grow right in front of me.

These ladies will always hold a special place in my heart because they were the FIRST. They helped shape what Velvet Vixens has become and showed me just how special this little community could be.

Now it’s almost time to pass the torch to a new group of Vixens, and I cannot wait to see the friendships, confidence, and memories this next year brings. 🥹

To my first Vixens, thank you for making year one something I’ll never forget. 🤍

I know plenty of women who LOVE big hoop earrings. Personally, I could never see myself wearing them, but that doesn’t mean they don’t look absolutely incredible on someone else.

The same goes for you.

Someone not seeing your beauty, your energy, or your value doesn’t make any of it less real. You were never meant to be for everyone.

And to the women who carry THAT energy with them every day... I love you, and I hope I get to see some of it in my studio. 🤍

I hope you know you’re allowed to love and celebrate the woman you are right now. 🤍

Not just the future version of you who feels a little more confident, has everything figured out, or finally checks off all those little things you’ve convinced yourself need to happen first.

You, right now, are worthy of being photographed.

I know choosing to do something this big for yourself can feel a little scary. We spend so much of our lives pouring our time, energy, and money into everyone else that committing to ourselves can almost feel uncomfortable.

But maybe that’s exactly why you deserve to do it.

Give yourself the chance to see what I get to see through my camera. Let yourself be celebrated, taken care of, and reminded that you never needed to become someone else to be worthy of any of this.

A lot of the women who walk into my studio have completely different lives, different stories, different reasons for being here... but I hear the same feeling over and over again.

Somewhere along the way, they gave so much of themselves to everyone else that their own spark got a little quieter.

They became the dependable one. The hardworking one. The mom, the partner, the caretaker, the woman who gets things DONE. And without even realizing it, they slowly started putting themselves second.

My studio was built for that everyday woman. The woman who has responsibilities, works hard, takes care of the people she loves... AND still deserves to choose herself without feeling guilty about it.

You don't have to abandon all the roles you carry to find yourself again.

Sometimes you just need to make a little room for her. 🤍
