🚁 Help Bring SH-60B Seahawk 162137 Home! 🚁

Valiant Air Command, Inc. is excited to announce that on June 29th, our team will travel to Pensacola to bring home SH-60B Seahawk BuNo 162137, the newest addition to our collection.

Moving a military helicopter across the state is no small undertaking. Between transportation, permits, equipment, and logistics, we estimate the cost of this recovery and transport mission to be approximately $10,000.

We're asking our members, supporters, and aviation enthusiasts to help us make this mission a success. Every donation, large or small, will go directly toward bringing Seahawk 162137 from Pensacola to Titusville, where she will be preserved and displayed for future generations to enjoy.

If you would like to support this effort, please donate here:

As we continue to reflect on the significance of D-Day, we wanted to share a special piece of Valiant Air Command history from our archives.

This photograph shows our beloved C-47 Tico Belle during the 1990s, decades before many of today's visitors had the opportunity to see her in person. While the years may have changed her appearance, her story remains one of the most remarkable of any flying C-47 in the world.

Tico Belle served in every major aerial campaign of the European Theater during World War II, including D-Day, Operation Dragoon, Operation Market Garden, the Battle of the Bulge, and Operation Varsity. She later participated in the Berlin Airlift before continuing a long post-war career that ultimately led her to Valiant Air Command, Inc.

Photos like this remind us that preserving historic aircraft is about more than maintaining machines—it's about safeguarding the stories, sacrifices, and achievements they represent. Every generation of volunteers, donors, pilots, and supporters has played a role in ensuring that Tico Belle continues to educate and inspire future generations.

Eighty-two years after D-Day, she remains a living tribute to the aircrews and paratroopers who helped change the course of history.

June 6, 1944 – D-Day

Today we pause to remember the courage, sacrifice, and determination of the Allied forces who launched the largest amphibious invasion in history during the Normandy Landings.

In the early hours of D-Day, hundreds of Douglas C-47 Skytrains carried Allied paratroopers into occupied France, flying through darkness, poor weather, and intense enemy fire to deliver troops behind enemy lines. Throughout the invasion, these aircraft continued their vital mission by towing gliders, dropping supplies, evacuating wounded personnel, and sustaining the Allied advance across Europe.

Here at Valiant Air Command, Inc., we are honored to preserve and operate one of these historic aircraft—our C-47 Tico Belle (42-100591). Unlike many surviving warbirds, Tico Belle is not merely representative of the type; she was there. During World War II, she participated in every major aerial campaign in the European Theater, including D-Day, Operation Dragoon, Operation Market Garden, The Battle of the Bulge, and Operation Varsity. Following the war, she continued her service during the Berlin Airlift before eventually finding her way home to preserve the legacy of those who flew and fought aboard her.

As we commemorate the 82nd anniversary of D-Day, we invite you to reflect on the bravery of the aircrews and paratroopers who helped secure freedom in Europe. Their story lives on through aircraft like Tico Belle, serving as a flying tribute to the Greatest Generation.

We remember. We honor. We preserve.

✈️ Restoration Hangar Update – Canberra WJ574 ✈️

Our English Electric Canberra TT.18, WJ574, has been moved outside of the restoration hangar to begin the next phase of her recovery.

Following the damage sustained during Hurricane Milton, our volunteers are now focusing on tidying her up and addressing the remaining repairs needed to return her to the condition she deserves. This work includes repairing storm-related damage, correcting cosmetic issues, and ensuring she continues to stand proudly as one of the most unique aircraft in the collection.

WJ574 has an incredible history, having served with the Royal Air Force and later participating in Project Robin, photographing Soviet missile tests during the Cold War. Preserving aircraft like her ensures these stories continue to be told for future generations.

Every hour of volunteer effort and every donation helps move this project forward. If you would like to support the restoration of Canberra WJ574, please consider making a contribution.

Thank you to our restoration volunteers for their continued dedication to preserving aviation history.

Today at Valiant Air Command, Inc., the team has been hard at work rearranging half of the main hangar as we prepare for an exciting new acquisition arriving this July.

As part of the move, our cockpit simulators are being relocated into a more organized and dedicated area to help improve the visitor experience and make the exhibit flow even better for our guests.

The reshuffle also gave us the rare opportunity to bring some of our less frequently moved exhibits outside for a little fresh air — including our beautiful Grumman FM-1 Wildcat, who took the chance to stretch her wings in the Florida sunshine.

A huge thank you goes out to our dedicated aircraft movement volunteers for all of their hard work today. Moving and repositioning historic aircraft is no small task, and their time, effort, and attention to detail help keep the museum evolving and improving for our visitors.

Big changes are underway behind the scenes, and we cannot wait to share more with everyone as we continue preparing for what is shaping up to be an exciting summer at the museum.
