My little guy ❤️ A day away from the shelter was exactly what Rocky needed. ❤️

The shelter can be a scary, overwhelming place for a sweet pup like Rocky, so we took him out for a little adventure and he was so brave every step of the way!

He rode perfectly in the car, soaked up the sunshine on the patio at Mayfly Tavern Bar and Grill , explored on a long walk, made a few new friends at Fritzie Freeze, and even enjoyed his very first pup cup!!🍦☀️

Watching Rocky relax outside of the shelter was a reminder of just how truly amazing he is. He’s gentle, loving, eager to please, and truly one of the sweetest dogs you’ll ever meet. His favorite place is right by your side, whether that’s on a patio, a trail, or curled up at home after a day of adventures.

Rocky shouldn’t have to spend another summer waiting in a kennel. He deserves a family, a couch, and a best friend to call his own!!

Please give this amazing pup a chance. Share his story, stop by to meet him, or help us find the person he’s been waiting for. ❤️🐾

🚨 140 DAYS. 140 DAYS TOO LONG. 🚨

The Ice Bros got to trade kennel life for a real adventure this weekend 🩵❄️

They spent the day relaxing in a stress-free environment, zooming around the backyard, soaking up freedom, and of course… making a pit stop at the pet store to pick out special treats before heading back to the shelter. And honestly? They acted like dogs who HAVE a home. Because they should.

Nick (white) is the life of the party!! goofy, affectionate, and convinced every person exists to pet him.
Jerome (brown) is quieter and more cautious, but watching him gain confidence with Nick by his side is something really special.

These boys survived being stranded on thin ice together. Since the day they were rescued, they’ve leaned on each other through every scary moment. They can be adopted separately, but if someone out there has room in their heart and home for both… it would mean everything.

After 140 days in the shelter, they deserve more than weekend breaks and temporary freedom. They deserve couches. Backyards. Late-night snackies. A family. A HOME.

Toledo… PLEASE help us find it for them. Share them. Tag someone. Come meet them. Let’s make sure their next adventure ends with them never having to return to a kennel again. 🩵

That’s my baby! ❤️❤️ Someone please Adopt Rico!

Caption below from Friends of Lucas County Dogs

Another holiday weekend passing this sweet boy by….
Rico remembers what home feels like.

He remembers soft beds, quiet nights, familiar voices, and the comfort of belonging to someone. For just around 4 years, Rico had a family and a life filled with love. But when his owner’s living situation changed, Rico lost everything he knew and found himself sitting in a shelter kennel instead.

We try so hard to make the shelter feel safe, but no matter how much volunteers and staff care, it will never replace a home. With over 50 adoptable dogs volunteers can access and many more waiting in the back there simply aren’t enough hands, enough time, or enough resources for dogs like Rico who are quietly waiting.

Recently, Rico got a tiny glimpse of comfort again. He went into a foster home for two weeks. He got to sleep in a house, relax, and feel normal again… only to be returned💔

When Rico came back to the shelter, he returned to his kennel shaking. Confused. Heartbroken. Forced to lose home all over again😭

And the hardest part? Rico is SUCH an easy dog to love.

He’s laid back, goofy, sweet, and gentle. The kind of dog that just wants to exist beside you and finally exhale. He isn’t asking for perfection. He’s asking for consistency. For someone who won’t give up on him!!

Rico deserves more than watching families pass by his kennel every day. He deserves a real chance at being someone’s best friend again…

Please help us share Rico!🙏🏼💙🐾

Adoptable “Cat” came to the shelter young, alone, and scared of the world around her. At first, she kept her distance… until she met “Squirrel”!

Turns out, all she really needed was a friend. Now she’s learning that life isn’t so scary when you have someone by your side. Thank you, Squirrel, for showing her love, comfort, and confidence! Come meet them both!
