Sunflower season is nearly upon us! Dang I think I ruined my streak of posting here every week because I went on vacation & didn't think about social media at all 🤷🏼‍♀️ no regrets! It was such a lovely break & I am so grateful to have been able to take some personal time for a little trip to Florida with our 'framily' - a group of four families consisting of a bunch of high school (& sooner!) friends and their spouses & kids 20+ years later. Back to the grind tomorrow with a lovely beach elopement & some headshots - here's to hoping I remember to get some behind the scenes content, but your girl gets dialed in and usually forgets, lol!

I have a habit of sending an 'all done and on my way home' selfie after sessions to Scott, so I decided to share some ranked from most normal to almost dying from heat stroke...enjoy! If I felt like deep diving from before I switched to tubing mascara a year or two, the results would showcase a lot more dramatic & embarrassing mascara smears all over the top half of my face 🙈

A flower field AND a double rainbow? Incredible. It's almost time for this year's flower field season! Wooo! Every single year I get to see faces light up when they see in person how beautiful this place is - it is such a gem and I absolutely love getting to explore it and create memories for your families there. Friendly reminder that email servers hate me & to be sure to check your spam, promotional, social or whatever other folder your email account automatically funnels emails to when you're expecting an email - there's a very good chance mine will end up there at some point 🙃 You can also do a quick search for "CI Photo" and they'll usually pull up, too. I wish I could make this a non-issue, but unfortunately it is out of my control and we just gotta roll with it.

Back to regularly scheduled posts after this one, I just haven't shared my face in photos in a bit so here's our 4th of July self portraits and snapshots. We love the 4th of July over here; in general, we tend to enjoy the smaller holidays throughout the year more than the big ones - there's something about just hanging out with your family making a day into a little adventure.

Here's all I've got to share from the Downtown Toledo fireworks show from last night. The upgrades along the river and at Promenade park are seriously lovely, I cannot wait to really explore when half the city isn't there, then get a couple or a family down there for an evening session. Also, huge bonus is that there is FINALLY a public restroom down there - hallelujah!

Every year, I don't sleep after the 4th of July fireworks because the time I should be sleeping is the only time I don't feel guilty editing personal photos, lol, it's a problem 🙃 This year was no different and I'm sleepy as can be, but it's always so worth it to see what I got and share it with whoever wants to check them out.

You guys know that I love the mayhem that can sometimes go along with sessions, I might even say that I thrive in it 😆 That being said, a simple couple portrait session is such a nice refresher between the usual chaos that often goes hand in hand with family sessions and events - these sessions are just us hanging out for a bit, finding some cool spots, making jokes and *trying* not to break into a sweat in the summer heat, lol!
