My shot of the eclipse last night, clouds covered the moon up until just after the peak, but I still got a cool view with some passing clouds!

Not quite sure if I’ll get the eclipse tonight, fighting some rain but it could still clear up!

Next up is my Milky Way shots, first up is a closeup of the core with my DSLR and a 50mm lens, then the Milky Way over the Chisos Mountains taken from the northeast side of the park, then finally, my favorite shot, the Milky Way as seen in the backyard of the place we rented. The mountain in the last pic is the East Corazon mountain. Fun story, the last day we were there, the power went out. Since I was waiting to see if I’d get the last night of clear skies, I had everything setup still. It ended up being cloudy, so me and my dad had to pack up in complete darkness in the house. Then, while packing stuff into the truck, I saw a diamondback just a couple feet from where we’d been walking back and forth on the steps… that could have been bad!

Here are my pics from Big Bend! In this post I’m just including the telescopic images. In order, these are M8 - the Lagoon Nebula in LRGB, M31 - the Andromeda Galaxy in HaLRGB, M33 - the Triangulum Galaxy in HaLRGB, and M45 - the Pleiades in LRGB.

Big Bend is SO worth the hype! I can barely see any sky brightness in a long exposure and it’s not even dark yet!!!

I’ve been busy with college applications, but here are some of the images I’ve been working on. Some images are in a newer HOO palette I’ve been creating, and some are in the SHO Hubble palette. I’m currently working on a massive mosaic of one of my favorite regions of the night sky!

Haven’t been posting lately but I have been imaging a lot. Here’s a couple of the most famous nebulae near the galactic core, Messier objects 8 and 16, or respectively the Lagoon and Eagle Nebulae.
