PSA for every parent booking a family session: make sure you get a picture of just you two!! It happens every time, we get so focused on the kids that mom and dad end up as an afterthought, if they make it into a photo at all. But someday your kids are going to want to see you two, just as you were, looking at each other like this.

So next time you're planning a session, tell your photographer (me, hi!) that you want a few minutes alone together. You'll be so glad you did.

CONFETTI GUNS IN THE STUDIO, WHAT MORE COULD YOU WANT?!

This branding session with the amazing was pure joy from start to finish. We laughed, we got confetti absolutely everywhere, and we came away with images that show exactly who she is and what her business is all about.

If you've been sitting on the idea of a branding session because it feels too big or too extra, let this be your sign: bring the confetti. Bring the fun. Let's make something that actually looks like you.

I've been photographing these two darlings' parents since their engagement, and it's been my honor to shoot both of their first year photos and beyond, now, too!

Little Poppy is the happiest, chillest little gal I think I've ever met, and big sis is all about her job (even if that does include a few too many hugs and tackles). I loooooove this series of them being sisters in the sun. It feels so nostalgic and summery to me.

We could've said, "no come out of the tree and stand and smile," but isn't it so much better to just let her be her?? I love this shot - the favorite spot, the dog along for the adventure, the golden light. ❤️

Ohmygoodness, this message about made me cry. After her branding session, Rachel sent me this:

"These are amazing! Thank you! Also, I think my new goal is to do a shoot with you regularly (yearly? pull in my GF and the kids? open to all ideas!) to let myself start softening and allow myself to be SEEN! It's amazing how photography can capture a journey."

🥹 This is exactly why I do what I do. Watching someone go from camera shy to wanting MORE, wanting to be seen, wanting to document the whole journey... that's the good stuff. Yes to yearly sessions, yes to bringing everyone you love, yes to all of it.

Kids change so fast, don't they? One day they're barely walking and the next they're climbing everything in sight like they own the place. That's exactly why I love getting families in front of my camera every single season, because these little moments don't slow down for anybody.

Bear hugs & piggyback rides in the studio?? Yes please!! This mama and her girl came in for the sweetest little session and by the end they were full on giggling, climbing on each other, striking silly poses, all of it. Sessions like this remind me why I love what I do so much. Moments like this don't last forever, so I'm so glad we caught it on camera.

I'm really feeling that with my own kids, who have somehow morphed into mini (and not so mini) men at 15 and 12. Get those hugs and giggles on camera while they're still up for it!

Matthew, Jenny and their new crew of TWO have been getting photos with me for quite awhile, including an extended family shoot with the other side of the family. But when there's a brand new baby joining the bunch and Jenny's whole family flew in for a visit, it's time for another session with this side!

Four littles under 4 always makes for some photo fun, and this was no exception! So happy to capture your crew!
