Some things you bring to a session become more than just a prop. 🤍

She brought her grandmother’s Bible—a piece of someone she loved, and a reminder that the people we carry with us don’t always have to be standing beside us.

That’s one of my favorite things about senior sessions: getting to capture the little pieces of who they are right now, before this season changes.

This was written in a very hard time for me. I was discouraged and ready to throw in the towel on my dreams.

A couple of things I notice as I look back on this prayer :

(1) Words make a BIG impact on someone as they are growing and trying to learn. Be an encouragement, not someone who makes others cry tears of discouragement. That doesn’t mean affirming every aesthetic decision, but it does mean kindness. 🩷

(2) Trust in the LORD and His timing. He has blessed me beyond measure, and given me direction and made a way for me to do what I’m doing and be with my babies. 💙💙

To the new photographer - it will take TIME to grow. It doesn’t happen overnight. Just enjoy learning, and use the tools you have. Don’t give up because of someone else’s opinion, but definitely take note of comments and be thinking constantly about how you can grow. ❤️
