Low light and fast moving subjects are kinda a photographer’s worst nightmare, but this kinda turned into a dream shoot. 📸 Couldn’t have found a better event to capture some raw, emotional and exciting photos. There was so much energy in every performance and these performers were incredible at what they do. As my kids would say, they “let me cook” and trusted me to do whatever I wanted with the shoot. 😂 I’m not gonna say the 20mm is my favorite lens, but I’ll definitely be using it a lot more.

Definitely a different look than I’m used to, but I’m having fun experimenting with it!

Anyone feel like modeling today? 📸

I spent a pretty penny on my Sony 20mm f/1.8 lens and realized I basically never use the damn thing. 😬 It’s a wide-angle lens, so I want to get downtown around my studio and have some fun with it. (Examples from other photographers below)

Thinking we’ll shoot around downtown, maybe even in my private parking garage. 🤷🏻‍♂️ And just a heads up—the 20mm means I’m going to have to be really up close and personal for the photos. 👀

I’m looking for 1–3 people max, all shooting at the same time, sometime around 6:30–7 PM.

No dress code. The bolder, the better. Wear a tutu with hiking boots for all I care. 🙂🙌🏼

Normally I’d charge way more, but I want to experiment with this lens and get some cool shots. So I’m doing a quick shoot for $30—roughly 1/10 of my normal price.

There’s a reason I’m charging something instead of doing it free. Somehow “free” is the only price that guarantees someone will cancel and waste my time. 🤦🏻‍♂️

The $30 deposit locks in your spot…and will most certainly be used to buy me a couple drinks at The Knox Cocktail Lounge Lounge afterward. 🙌🏼🥃

Who else made it out to the rodeo in Topeka last night? 🤠

I had my kiddos with me, so I wasn’t able to get behind the scenes or get as close to the action as I would’ve liked. But I still managed to pull off a few pretty epic shots! 📸

Definitely adding this to the list of events I’ll be making a priority next year. Can’t wait to get closer to the action! 🔥

I’ll be heading into the studio today to edit several recent photo shoots, and I could definitely use an excuse to step away from the computer for a bit!
