ONTARIO - There were an eye-popping 1,100 queries across the province for s*x with a non-existent teen, who, in reality, was an undercover cop.

Across Ontario, there were 85 arrests and 165 charges laid, including 35 in Peel Region.

Those charged included a teacher, students, business owners, construction workers, entrepreneurs, and retirees. One of those arrested had two outstanding warrants for his arrest in Guelph for breaching his release order.

The sting was part of Project Juno and comprised human trafficking teams working undercover operations across the province. The goal was to target Johns who were attempting to have s*x with children.

There have already been 14 guilty pleas, with other cases before the courts. Police did not release the names of the perps on lawyers’ orders, with many protected under publication bans. Cops did release a poster of the accused with their faces blurred

YORK REGION, ONTARIO - A North Bay man who was free on bail conditions for a separate incident allegedly twice fled from York Regional Police at high rates of speed over the span of week in Georgina before investigators say he was ultimately nabbed, allegedly while impaired and carrying a loaded handgun.

Officers first observed a red Nissan Qashqai travelling at a high rate of speed in the area of Woodbine Avenue and Riverglen Drive on July 10.

“The vehicle was heading in the opposite direction. When officers turned around in an effort to conduct a traffic stop, the vehicle fled at high speed,” a York police release states.

A week later on Thursday, July 17, police say they spotted the same vehicle in the area of Woodbine Avenue and Boyers Road. A police helicopter began tracking the car. Video released by police show the suspect racing southbound on Highway 404, and exiting at Highway 7 in Richmond Hill.

“The suspect vehicle ran multiple red lights and was seen driving the wrong way,” police alleged in a release. “Despite officers deploying a tire deflation device, the vehicle continued travelling on all four rims into the Town of Aurora.”

Video shows sparks flying off the damaged vehicle before officers finally take the suspect into custody. “In the interest of public safety, officers made intentional contact to stop the vehicle and the driver was taken into custody without injury.”

BRAMPTON, ONTARIO - Peel Regional Police are asking potential victims to come forward after uncovering what they describe as a large-scale fraud involving a bogus contracting company in Brampton that has cost clients over $800,000.

According to investigators, reports began surfacing in July 2024 regarding a business operating under the name A&E Contractors, which was linked to Timothy Glen Carter. What appeared to be routine complaints about unfinished work quickly evolved into a broader criminal investigation, police said.

After nearly a year of inquiries, detectives determined that A&E Contractors had no legitimate business presence in the area. Police say the company lacked a registered corporate identity, had no fixed physical address, and could not be traced through standard business channels.

Authorities now believe the financial losses linked to the fraudulent operation exceed $800,000, and Carter is currently wanted on a warrant for fraud over $5,000. Investigators suspect there may be additional victims who have yet to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Peel Regional Police
