BHS Graduating Class of 2026

I apologize for the lateness of this post! I have been trying to post these photos since yesterday evening, but Facebook apparently thinks I am spamming. I did manage to get the photos posted this morning, but it will not allow me to type in the names on each picture! I will keep trying throughout the day.
But anyway, congratulations to all of you guys and gals! And congratulations to you parents and Grandparents as well!

BHS Track & Field at the State Meet

The Bulldog Track & Field team State qualifiers traveled to Missoula for the State Track Meet this weekend. This is such a cool event to go kinda be a part of! The fact that I have a camera allows me to get up close to the action, and to interact with a bunch of really great kids! I gotta tell you, that was money well spent on that camera!
There are so many great stories that usually happen at State, and this one was no exception. Most often it is not so much that you won or lost, it is more about doing your personal best and achieving a new PR (Personal Record) There were a number of those happening!
Trace Giomi achieved PR's two throws in-a-row in Discus and took 1st Place! Gavin Green PR'd in the 3200M. The Girls 4x100 Relay team of Holly Newman, Elaine MacDonald, Aspen Slyker and Kaitlyn Noyes PR'd, setting a new school record, and took 5th Place. Some PR's are a little more than personal records, though. Some PR's are SR's! That would be State Records. And for the 2nd time in her high school career, that is what Kaitlyn Noyes did in the Long Jump! On her very first jump, Kaitlyn went 18 feet and 9.75 inches to set a new Class B state record!
And don't forget Kyla Meissner who didn't even know if she was going to compete until the day before the meet! Kyla had an injury that kept her from running for the last month of the season and didn't even think she was going to get to participate this weekend until a last minute second opinion cleared her to run. She responded by taking 4th place in the 1600M and 1st place in the 3200m! I'm sure there were probably others that I did not find out about. And I apologize for missing a couple of the Awards Podium photos opportunities! And I especially apologize to those I did not get a picture of!!!
Overall, the Girls team came in 5th Place, and the Boys team came in 13th. Saturday was a cold, kind of miserable day weather-wise, but it was exciting nonetheless.
Thank you, Bulldogs, for representing your school, and our community, so well! And thanks to all of the coaches for all of their hard work!

BHS Tennis

The Bulldog Tennis Team traveled to Missoula for the State Tennis Meet, which began on Thursday. The Bulldogs fielded two Singles players, Harper Wolfgram and Bella McDaniel. They also fielded two Doubles teams; Bryleigh Erickson and Chloe Flynn, and then Addy White and Kylie Warburton. They all had a strong start on Thursday (which is the day that all of these photos are from) winning nearly every match they played in! On Friday things got tougher as the Ladies faced stronger and stronger opponents with each match. At the end of Friday, the only Bulldogs still in it was the Doubles team of Bryleigh and Chloe. On a truly miserable Saturday morning, Bryleigh and Chloe lost a heartbreaker of a tiebreaker, but they took 5th place! Congratulations, Ladies! And congratulations to all of our Lady Bulldogs who made it to State! That alone is a noteworthy achievement!

BHS Baseball vs Columbus

The Bulldogs hosted the Columbus Cougars this afternoon in some Class B baseball in their last home game of the season. The weather was nicer to us than it was predicted to be, so both the Varsity and the JV got their games in.
Things started off with the recognition and celebration of the two seniors on the team, Aiden Kitto and Beau Sumner. Thank you Beau and Aiden for all of the hard work and effort you have put into Bulldog Baseball for the last two years! You have played through some tough situations and have kept you heads held high and continued to give your maximum effort to your team! You are both a great example to the younger players on the team!
Well, neither the Varsity nor the JV games went the way we had hoped. But, regardless, our boys kept fighting, and they did make some very nice plays throughout the games. But the Cougars were hitting the ball exceptionally well, and they managed to win both games decidedly.
The Bulldogs will travel to Polson to play in the State Tournament on the 28th. Good luck Bulldogs!

BHS Track at Boulder

The Bulldog Track Team participated in the District 5B track meet today, in Boulder. It was a blustery day, but the kids turned in a whole lot of "PR's" in spite of that. And as a team they did very good as well! The Girls team took 2nd place, and the Boys team took 3rd! Excellent job, Dawgs! Good luck at Divisionals next week!

PS. If I didn't know your name, or I got it wrong, I apologize!

BHS Baseball vs East Helena

The Bulldogs took on East Helena this afternoon on what had to be the best day for baseball so far this year. The Bulldogs had their best offensive output that I have seen this year, scoring 7 runs. Our boys hung tough, down 13-7 after 4 innings. But East Helena had a big 5th inning, scoring another 5 runs, then holding the Bulldogs scoreless in the bottom half of the 5h, so they won if by the mercy rule, 18-7.
That was a good effort, guys!
The Bulldogs have one more home game, which is this Saturday, starting at 1:00pm. Come on out and cheer on the Bulldogs

BHS Varsity Baseball

The Bulldogs hosted the Dillon Beavers this afternoon on what was the nicest day for baseball I've seen this year.
The Beavers came into this game ranked as the top team in the whole state, so the Bulldogs had their work cut out for them.
But they weren't intimidated at all! The Bulldogs had their best defensive game of the year, that I have seen! They held the Beavers relatively in check for the first three inning behind some really good defense! But the game got away from them in the 5th inning, and Dillon got the win 16-0.
It was a fine effort, guys! You are showing improvement every game. Keep up the good work!

BHS Golf

The Bulldogs Golf Team made the short trip to Three Forks today, and so did I! The golfers did pretty good, too! The Boys Team took 1st place, and the Girls Team took 3rd place! Great job, Bulldogs! Individually, they stacked up like this:
Boys
Alex Weiss - 4th
Caleb Swanson - 6th
Jace Mainwaring - 8th
Gunner Cox - 10th
Brando Parr - 34th

Girls
Jazel Regan - 5th
Brynlee Brown and Louie Parr - 15th
Claire Swanson - 19th
Autumn Henke 24th

Good job, everybody!

BHS Drama

BHS Drama had their first performance of their Spring Musical this evening. The play is called 'Most Likely To: The Senior Superlative". This is a fun play that pokes fun at the expectations that are sometimes placed on kids, and the boxes, or categories, they get lumped into, while most kids are just trying to survive.
Denise Bakkum and Joy Baum. There will be another performance tomorrow evening at 7pm, so head on down to the gym and give it a watch.
Good job, kids!

Bulldogs Baseball vs Park High

The Bulldogs hosted the Park High Rangers of Livingston yesterday afternoon for a little cold-weather baseball. The weather alternated between sunny and snowing about 6 different times. Typical Montana spring!
This day was a very special occasion, as the baseball field was officially dedicated as Sautter Field, recognizing the many years of hard work and dedication to Townsend baseball by both Jack Sautter, and his son Greg Sautter. Family members of the Sautter family were on hand, and Mrs. Sautter was presented with a bouquet of flowers, and then cut the ribbon. It was very nice!
The Rangers came out with some hot bats in the 1st inning, hitting two 3-run homeruns, and scoring 10 runs before the Bulldogs could shut them down. After that one inning, the Bulldogs played them really tough! Pitcher Mason Bauman came on in relief in the 1st inning, and he had a nice game! He had two really nice pick-off plays to third base, getting two runners out who weren't paying attention. He had a number of strikeouts as well.
Offensively, the Bulldogs had their highest run output that I have seen at the home games so far this season, scoring 4 runs. But the early lead by the Rangers was too big to overcome, and the Bulldogs lose this one 17-4.
Good effort Bulldogs! Get better each game!
