Clay Lee McDowell 🤍
Born Sept 1, 2025, weighing 8 lb, and measuring 21.5 inches
Arriving unexpectedly early with being induced 2 weeks ahead of his due date, little Clay is here and safely home with almost a week’s stay in the NICU.
Needless to say this last week has been the longest of my life, yet the most reassured I have been in trusting the Lord in his divine plan.
Since the beginning of January when my husband and I found out we were pregnant, we knew that baby Clay was a gift from God, a promise from Him. Fast forward to this last Monday - not knowing our baby’s health, it took a lot of prayer and focusing that the Lord would provide and that even though we couldn’t be there to help our baby boy, it was in Jesus’ hands.
With much reassurance on Saturday morning that our baby was coming home, a verse popped up on my phone from an app that was deleted well over a year ago (quite literally have no idea how this appeared on my phone - aka God’s way of speaking to my husband and I). The verse read “For you are my lamp, O Lord; The Lord shall enlighten my darkness” 2 Samuel 22:29. The study goes on to cover that this verse is a declaration of trust and a testament to the character of God as a bringer of light in our darkest moments. Time after time this last week my husband and I have witnessed, first hand, God’s plan unfold with an immense trust in faith. We are so incredibly thankful for a happy, healthy baby boy and praise Jesus for all that he has done in our little family’s life!
And a big shoutout to my husband for being such a rock in this test of our faith. I truly could not have done this without your steady love and speaking life over our family 🫶🏼
