Can someone explain to me why the first year feels like the longest and shortest year all at once?

One minute you're bringing them home from the hospital, and the next you're celebrating their very first birthday.

I've had the honor of documenting this sweet little guy since he was a newborn.

Getting to watch your little ones grow in front of my camera is truly one of the greatest privileges of this job. Seeing their personalities blossom, milestone after milestone, never gets old.

You know what's funny? I have a feeling most of you will say the same.
The photos I treasure most of my own children aren't the "perfect" ones.

They're the blurry photos of them running through the yard.
The pictures of messy faces covered in popsicle juice.
The muddy hands and feet as they dig a river through the backyard.
The photo of three generations trying to get Granddaddy's fishing line out of a tree.

Perfection isn't what makes a photograph meaningful.

It's the memory attached to it.

Years from now, I won't care if their hair was messy or their shirt was wrinkled.
I'll just be grateful I have the photo.

I know my page is typically all about motherhood, but I can't let Father's Day pass without celebrating the dads.

To the dads who show up day after day.
The dads who work hard to provide for their families.
The dads who take shifts through the sleepless nights.
The dads who carry sleepy kids to bed after they've fallen asleep in the car.
The dads who make playtime a little more fun, tell the best stories, and somehow always know how to make their kids laugh.
