Jinx hunted with me yesterday morning. We had a lot of fun. She spotted a coyote. I texted Ron that he was headed his way and he got a shot off on him. I asked the tracking bros Tom Monehan Eugene Keys and Mark Maniaci about tracking it and they all thought she would have fun with that. lol. It was cool to see the difference in her body language. I’ve never let her mess with coyotes because she’s dog aggressive but as she gets older- I just want her to enjoy life. We trailed it a couple hundred yards to a property line. It wasn’t worth pursuing from that point.

How’s this ten years ago? Now this amazing young man is in the military, stationed in Germany but Jinx is still here kissing deer.

Tracking swag is a thing- this isn’t even all my shirts, some I couldn’t part with or they were in the laundry lol. Tracking friends, my sister in law does these and her workmanship is INCREDIBLE!! Let me know if you want her number.

Thank you just doesn’t seem to be adequate. When we say tracking “family” that’s just what this is! My people have gone above and beyond for my sweet KK. If you want to follow along on our journey- I just posted an update. Please pray for my sweet girl, there is no easy fix here and we are still navigating without many answers but we do believe in the power of prayer.
When KK heals up in a few weeks we will be asking our hunters for a few easy peasy tracks for her to take Jinx on. She loves working with my dog and would be over the moon to recover a couple of deer.

As our tenth year of tracking together opens in a few days… Jinx and I will be sitting out the first month. Our sweet granddaughter will be having surgery to remove a tumor on her spine. She’s our best buddy and loves to track so if you could keep all of us in your prayers we would appreciate it. If you need a tracker and can’t reach us, please contact Sublime Tracking. We have several great teams in our area and Mark can hook ya up with one of them.

This was definitely a “pass with excellence”. Congratulations Jimmy!
Melissa Jared Harrelson and I had entirely way too much fun setting lines and testing dogs but that’s to be expected when we get together. Thank you to the Illinois network for the hospitality, especially the Beachy Family, Marissa Rosentreter and Dave Dainton for the hard work and organization. Loved every minute of it!!

When a “cute as hell Four Year Old “ steals your tracking dog—if there’s one person that could actually steal her away from me it’s this kid. Her only request this weekend was to do a track.
