I somehow managed to make it onto TV this morning without tripping over a leash, being tackled by a dog, or accidentally saying, "Who's a good boy?" to Jay Scott Smith. I'd call that a success.

A huge thank you to WDIV Local 4 / ClickOnDetroit for inviting me on this morning to talk about National Dog Photography Day and, more importantly, shine a light on the work we do.

Thank you to Premier Pet Supply for always being such amazing partners and to Public City PR for making it all happen behind the scenes. You all make me look way more organized than I actually am.

I'm incredibly grateful for every opportunity to talk about rescue animals, pet photography, and the organizations that work tirelessly to help them. If even one more dog or cat finds a home because of conversations like this, that's the best headline of all.

Turns out photographing dogs is way less nerve-racking than being on live TV..... BUT with that said..... LEGENDS & made it so fun and easy to talk about dog photography.

Some dogs are couch potatoes.

Some are tiny tornadoes.

And then there's Tulip... who wakes up every morning and chooses JOY.

Seriously, if happiness had a spokesdog, Tulip would already have the job. She approaches every new person like she's been waiting her whole life to meet them. Every walk is an expedition. Every toy is the greatest invention ever created. Every day is the best day ever.

She's basically the canine version of that friend who says, "Let's go on an adventure!" when you were just planning to take the trash out.

Tulip hands out kisses like she's running a nonprofit, believes strangers are just friends who haven't pet her yet, and somehow manages to make the world feel a little brighter everywhere she goes.

The only thing she's missing?

A forever family to laugh with, explore with, and remind every single day that life is a whole lot more fun when you greet it with a wagging tail.

Someone out there is about to hit the jackpot.

Dina & Dante: the tiniest buddy cop duo you've ever met.

Meet Dina, the CEO of Chaos. Meet Dante, Head of Emotional Support.

Dina handles security (mostly by yelling at squirrels), neighborhood inspections (every walk is a sniff-vestigation), and spontaneous WWE matches that Dante definitely did not sign up for.

Dante's job? Roll over. Offer the belly. Accept defeat. Collect face rubs. Repeat.

They're basically the definition of "one brain cell... shared lovingly."

Yes, they're a little shy at first. Think of them as tiny VIPs. You don't get backstage access on day one. But earn their trust, and you'll unlock zoomies, cuddles, hilarious wrestling matches, dramatic Chihuahua commentary, and enough sunshine naps to qualify as a lifestyle.

These two aren't looking for separate homes because they've already found their favorite person.....it's each other.

Now they're just hoping to find the humans who'll complete the team.

Miss Canada is officially available.

She's been on the transfer market for over a year, and honestly... the scouts are embarrassing themselves.

Every weekend, families walk past her kennel like clubs passing on a veteran striker who still has plenty left in the tank. Their loss.

Miss Canada has already fought through the toughest match of her life. She survived being abandoned, beat mammary cancer, and came back stronger than ever. She's proof that heart wins matches.

Now she's just waiting for a manager to finally put her in the starting lineup.

At around 9 years old, she's still got plenty of energy. She hands out kisses like post-match celebrations, believes belly rubs should be written into every contract, and yes... she'll announce when someone is approaching the house. That's not bad behavior—that's solid defense.

She's the kind of teammate who gives everything she's got, every single day.

Her adoption fee has already been sponsored, and thanks to the incredible Pickles Project, her new family will also receive support toward veterinary care, food, and a comfy new bed.

So here's the final whistle...

Miss Canada doesn't need another season on the sidelines.

She needs someone to look at her and say, "You're coming home with us."

Let's get this girl off the transfer list and into the only club she's ever wanted to play for...

Authorities have confirmed that Cortez has been caught attempting to steal... every puddle in Michigan.

Witnesses report he has absolutely no self-control around water. Kiddie pool? He's in. Lake? Cannonball. Hose? Best invention of all time. If it splashes, Cortez has already claimed it.

When he's not conducting aquatic investigations, he's busy being the world's greatest road trip buddy. Just open the car door and he'll volunteer as navigator, snack supervisor, and enthusiastic window inspector. Payment is accepted in treats. Lots of treats.

He's 6 years old, already knows sit and shake, loves learning new tricks, and has the kind of goofy personality that makes ordinary days feel like adventures.

The only mystery left to solve?

Why is this handsome, water-loving goofball still waiting for a family.

Every footballer dreams of hearing the crowd roar their name.

But Tipsy? She'd settle for hearing...

"Who's a good girl?"

At 13 years young, this veteran has already played a lot of matches. She's weathered every season, celebrated the sunny days, survived the rainy ones, and she's still out there giving it everything she's got.

She may not be sprinting end-to-end anymore, but she's mastered the things that really matter. She'll happily patrol the backyard, carefully inspect every blade of grass like she's scouting the competition, soak up the sunshine after a hard day's "training," squeak a toy or two, collect championship-worthy butt scratches, and then retire to the couch beside her favorite teammate... you.

She's house-trained, wonderful with children, thriving in foster care, and all she's asking for now is a club willing to sign her for the most important season of her life.

No transfer fee.
No salary cap.
Just a little room on the roster... and a whole lot of love.

Senior dogs have a way of changing your heart. They don't ask for forever because they know forever looks a little different for them. They simply ask that whatever time they have left is spent feeling safe, cherished, and home.

Meet Potato... or as his friends call him, Tater. 🥔❤️

Unfortunately, Potato suffers from a very serious condition known as Resting Pit Face.

You know the look...
"Who ate my snacks?"
"Those are the socks you chose for today?"
"I'd like to speak to the manager."

Meanwhile, the truth is he's over here making friends with dogs, cats, kids... and probably hoping you'll throw him a toy.

This young goofball is playful, affectionate, and learning all the important grown-up things like house manners and potty training. Basically, his face says "villain," but his heart says "best friend."

Forty-eight teams started this incredible tournament. Match after match, dream after dream... and now we're down to just two.

🇦🇷 Giddy from is waving the Argentina flag with everything she's got.

They're cheering for opposite sides today... but here's the funny thing...

When it comes to rescue, there shouldn't be rivals.

There shouldn't be opponents.
No enemy jerseys.
No "us versus them."

Because whether Hazel finds her forever home first or Giddy does... we all win.

That's something we've always believed at Ruff Life Photography. We have the privilege of working with rescues, shelters, and animal welfare organizations all across Metro Detroit, and we never see them as competitors. Every adoption is a victory. Every empty kennel is a championship. Every life saved is a win worth celebrating for all of us.

Lately, we've been seeing something really special happening. Rescue groups are joining forces, sharing resources, supporting one another, and building new coalitions to help even more animals. And honestly? That's the kind of teamwork that deserves a standing ovation.

Today's football champions will lift one trophy.

But here in Metro Detroit, every time a rescue works alongside another rescue... every time a volunteer lends a hand... every time a foster opens their home... and every time an adopter says, "I'll take them"... every single one of us wins. ❤️🐾

So while the world is watching one final match...
