Welcome to the end of the media scrum at the end of the beginning of the 2026 season in Long Beach. A year ago I shot this event with a spectator ticket. I've finagled my way into a few media passes since then. It's been a fun ride, and along the way I've learned much about cameras, motorsports, the media landscape, and myself.

So where'd the cowboy hat go? Unfortunately the brim can't quite support the weight of a GoPro on this hat mount I've been experimenting with. It's part of the new creative direction & content strategy I've been working on while taking a vacation from feeding the content machine. I may well figure a way to get the GoPro to work on the cowboy hat though 😁
