I’ve been in this a long time. These are from 40 years ago today, when I ran the darkroom for the fabulous Balfour Walker and Chris Mooney Photography. I was in my last semester of college, getting a BFA in photography. I had already gotten my business license the year before and was doing freelance work, while at the university and working for Balf, until I went on my own full-time.
I am fortunate to have studied, worked and trained in the era of film (starting in high school), then continue on into the age of digital photography.
I’m also fortunate to have worked for commercial photographers while studying fine art photography under the instruction of Harold Jones, Judith Golden, James Enyeart and Keith McElroy.
I had the best of both worlds, and continue to love what I do.
