I’ve got a surprise to share with you; I’m excited and thrilled to say I have been selected to be inducted into the Missouri Photojournalism Hall of Fame. It’s an absolute honor to be recognized by the nominating committee and to join the 89 distinguished photojournalists already in the Hall of Fame (https://mopress.com/missouri-photojournalism-hall-of-fame/). This year I’m in terrific company with the cohort consisting of Jackie Bell, Robert Cohen, Laurie Skirvan, Brian Storm and Sol Studna.
Everyone is welcome to join the ceremony at 4 p.m. Nov. 12 at the State Historical Society of Missouri, Columbia, Mo., with reception to follow. RSVP: bit.ly/mophotoj.
HUGE thanks to the nominating committee, The Missouri Press Association and the State Historical Society for making this possible. I hope to see you there!
Below is my first news photograph published in a "real" paper - The Independence Examiner, back in 1974. I became an intern shortly after that and the publisher told me to go to Mizzou.
