We have officially photographed all 50 women of The 50 Over 50 Experience.

What started as an idea has now become 50 women, 50 stories, and 50 unforgettable portraits.

And looking back at where this began, I’m reminded why I wanted to create this project in the first place: because women do not become less worthy of being seen as they get older. Their stories become richer. Their sense of self deepens. And there is something incredibly powerful about giving them the space to be celebrated exactly as they are.

Over the past months, I’ve had the privilege of photographing women in their 50s, 60s, 70s and beyond—each one bringing her own story, personality, strength, humor, vulnerability, and beauty into the studio.

Now, it’s time to bring them all together.

On November 8, we’re celebrating these remarkable women at The Portrait Gala at Hacienda del Sol in Tucson.

Their portraits will be displayed. Their stories will be shared. And for one unforgettable afternoon, we get to put the spotlight exactly where it belongs—on them.

But this celebration isn’t only for the 50 women who stepped in front of my camera.

It’s for their families.
Their friends.
The women who cheered them on.
The women who see a little of themselves in their stories.
And anyone who believes women deserve to be seen, celebrated, and remembered at every age.

LeeAat Dehnert knows something about plans—and about what happens when life refuses to follow them.

“Life always throws curveballs at you.”

At 51, she has learned that growing older isn’t about having everything figured out. It’s about becoming more flexible, more certain of who you are, and a little less concerned with who you’re supposed to be.

“There’s a freedom in being over 50. You don’t have to conform. You can just do you.”

That same willingness to step outside the familiar brought LeeAat to the 50 Over 50 Experience. A self-described introvert, she came wanting to try something different—and left seeing herself in ways she hadn’t before.

Her advice? “Go outside your box and say yes.” Come for the portraits. Stay for the stories, connection, and celebration.

Nita Larkins joined the 50 Over 50 Experience wanting to preserve who she is in this season of life. She was nervous in front of the camera. She was used to being the one behind it. But somewhere along the way, something shifted.

“I think everyone needs to realize how beautiful they are, and that there’s beauty in everyone.”

For Nita, the experience became about more than photographs. It became about acceptance—the wrinkles she has earned, the years she has lived, and the peace that comes when you stop measuring yourself against someone else’s expectations.
