alllllll of this
Can I just be honest for a minute?
I've been pretty quiet lately.
Not because I don't care.
Not because I don't support people.
Not because I don't love photography.
I'm just... tired.
Tired of feeling like I always have to be "on."
Like I have to constantly post to stay relevant.
Constantly comment so people know I support them.
Constantly show up online so I don't disappear.
Constantly create.
Constantly market.
Constantly prove I'm still here.
Somewhere along the way, this industry started feeling like if you stop for a second, people forget you.
And that's heavy.
On top of wanting to run a business, I want to be present for my kids. I want to make it to their games, their school events, the little moments that matter. I don't want every free evening to be spent chasing an algorithm or wondering why I haven't posted enough.
I've also stopped trying to photograph everything.
This past year I've realized what truly fills my cup is maternity, seniors, and couples. The sessions where we can slow down, tell a story, and create something meaningful.
Will I still photograph families? Absolutely. The unique ones, the family farms, the sessions with heart and intention... those will always have a place with me.
I'm learning that building a business doesn't have to mean saying yes to everything or keeping up with everyone else.
Maybe I've been quiet because I finally gave myself permission to breathe.
If you've noticed I've been quieter, please don't mistake it for not caring.
Sometimes the people who care the most are simply the ones who are the most exhausted.
I'm still here.
I'm just choosing to protect my peace a little more than I used to. 🤎
