She thought they were just checking a massive item off her travel bucket list. Being a huge Hemingway fan, walking into that historic Key West home was supposed to be one of the highlights of the trip on its own.
She had no idea her girlfriend had planned the ultimate plot twist.
Right there, surrounded by the history and the heavy Florida heat, the afternoon completely shifted. No performance, no traditional script—just the quiet shock of realizing a place that already meant so much was about to become the backdrop for the rest of their lives.
Getting to document this kind of intentional, deeply personal storytelling is exactly why I travel for love.

Atmospheric getting-ready photos are my absolute favorite, but they aren’t a guarantee. The final look depends so heavily on the energy & aesthetic of the morning—the literal look of the bridal suite, how the light hits the suite (both natural and artificial), the dynamic of the people in the room & the natural energy of the bride. Hannah has a very calm disposition & it really comes through in photos.
I had the best time bringing out the best in this gallery while editing it.
