We are people. We are human. We need each other.... Our character makes us a better person, not our perfections. How can we rule our composure in chaos; How can we share during lack; How kind can we genuinely be to an enemy; How quick we are to confess and repent our wrongdoing.... how do we treat others who do not share our views or values....
If we think we are good people because we compare ourselves to those we deem as morally flawed, we are not. Just turn yourself over to the side of you that people don't see, the heart, the inward opinions and desires, the twisted imagination.... and you will see we are all just as flawed as the next person.
Be thankful that you don't do everything you think about. Some of us has been environmentally stripped from that inward safety that develops a healthy sense of self self-control. We are only as good as we are to the person that will be least to recieved our goodwill towards another. Jesus said it best, what thanks should you be given if you are only good to those who are good to you? It takes a higher standard of morale to treat those who despise you as a friend. Its a standard of morale that too many of us reject to adopt.
In closing, we are only as beautiful, regal, or "good" as the moral compass we adopt during adversity; the genuine acceptance and appreciation for even the worst of us, understanding that sick souls need the healing patience of love and perseverance. Win, lose, or draw, we need each other to be healthy, whole, and functionable. Hey. We are our brother's keeper
