One thing I hear all the time:

“We’re awkward in front of a camera.”

Almost every couple says some version of this. That’s what I’m here for!

You don’t need to know how to pose, where to put your hands, or what to do next. My job is to guide you through the session or day so your photos feel natural and genuine but also so you have a good time with each other.

By the end of the day, most couples tell me it was much easier than they expected and they even had a little fun. 😊

The reception is where the timeline relaxes a little.

The candles are glowing and the shoes start coming off. Sometimes people even change into sweatpants. Whatever the move is, everyone settles in to celebrate.

I literally love weddings in their entirety, so I can’t necessarily say these are my only favorite moments, but I can say some favorite moments happen after the formalities are finished.

Here’s some favorite reception shots from a recent wedding second shooting with my girl . Ready to do it again this weekend?

Rain wasn’t in the plan. When you book your wedding a year or two in advance, it’s never with the thought that it will rain. Two weeks leading up to this wedding we knew rain was a high probability.

And rain it did. It didn’t stop loved ones from sitting under umbrellas on the banks of Yellowleaf Creek, determined to witness every moment anyway. It started right as the wedding ceremony started. It was light and romantic, not quite enough to soak your shirt through. And it ended before vows were exchanged. I had a rain plan for my cameras. If it got too bad, my second photographer would hold the umbrella and I would shoot. I had towels and a spare outfit in the car. Capturing this wedding was going to happen, even with if it was a monsoon. Luckily none of that was needed and the rain stopped as quick as it started.

A good reminder that the people who matter most aren’t showing up for perfect weather. They’re showing up for you. And as your photographer, I am too!

Small details, massive significance.

The flowers will fade, the cake will get eaten, but these rings? You’ll wear them every day.

That’s why I love ring photos. They’re not just another detail, they’re a reminder of the promises made on your wedding day.

Officially The Gibsons!

A little rain wasn’t about to slow down this beautiful wedding day on the banks of Yellow Leaf Creek. With a restored 1800s grist mill serving as both the backdrop and reception space, the guests enjoyed a day packed with history, charm, and character.

Congratulations to Alyssa and John Michael!

One of my favorite parts of a wedding day is watching how your people react to you. A planned first look or an organic first sighting for that day, it’s a special moment. My goal is to watch for and to document them either way.

These moments of the day matter just as much as the portraits. It tells the story of your day and your loved ones.

Normalize taking a second to actually soak YOUR PEOPLE in on your wedding day.

Wedding days usually don’t leave much room for slow, creative bridal portraits like these. You can build extra time into the timeline, but with so many moments to experience throughout the day, many couples prefer to keep things moving. That’s where a bridal session comes in. A bridal session gives us space to create something a little more intentional and artistic, while still tailoring the session to fit each bride’s style and personality.

These images leaned a little more creative than the traditional bridal session, and I loved every second of it.
Thanks to .v for being so willing to model for us at this styled shoot.
