You can learn photography with any type of camera including a phone camera! Here are my top 3 camera choices for kids ages 7-13.

📸 CAMKORY Point and Shoot (ages 7-10)

📸 IPhone 12 and up (all ages)

Yes, you heard me! The iPhone is a great teaching tool for photography. While you can’t switch out lenses, the simplicity and dynamic range of an iPhone camera is one of the best cameras for kids to learn composition with easily. It’s extremely light weight compared to a professional dslr and its ability to capture even lighting without understanding settings is a big plus. An additional plus to using an iPhone is being able to learn how to edit using Adobe Lightroom Mobile.

📸 Canon Rebel T7 (ages 9-13)

The Canon Rebel T7 is a great affordable DSLR camera under $500 perfect for kids who are a little more serious about learning photography. It’s small and not too heavy, making it really easy for small hands to manipulate the shutter speed and aperture settings. The auto focusing system is also really easy for kids to use to get things they want in focus. This camera allows you to switch out lenses for the perfect focal length whether it’s a landscape they’re shooting or portrait. If your child is showing a natural ability to take photos, do not hesitate to buy this camera for them! It is extremely durable and will launch them into the next class of full frame cameras.

During registration you’ll have the option to add on the Canon Rebel Dslr as a rental that will be available at the studio every day for your child or purchase a take home point and shoot that is theirs to keep. We will be teaching them everything they need to know to be able to use it on the first day of camp!

Our Kid’s Summer Photography Camp is FINALLY open for registration!! 📸📸📸

So much work has been put into this already with a lot more to go! We have some really fun things planned that we’ll be sharing on the page soon, so be sure you like and follow.
