I don't do very many weddings anymore. Mainly because I started to feel disconnected from the large parties that seemed more about the timeline and activities of the day than the celebration of the commitment two souls are making to each other. Yesterday's wedding made me feel so very connected. The love and vow exchange I was able to witness from these two beautiful giving people was everything I want to attract in my business. People that have been in their lives and witnessed them grow individually and together blessed them with wisdom and grace during their ceremony, but also stepped in to do things for them when they saw a need for it to be done without being asked. I saw friends doing dishes, setting up arrangements, and serving each other all day long.
Santa and Minh met in Jerusalem doing volunteer work, then spent many years apart serving the world in different areas. Minh shared a letter he wrote to his future wife, Santa, in 2017 for his vow exchange. I wish I was half as eloquent of a writer as the both of them. Their vows to each other were some of the most beautiful and real words I've heard spoken for others to witness other than ourselves and God. (They gave permission to share their words, but it'll take me a minute to transcribe them from my pictures)
So, if you are planning to a day focused on you, I am so your girl. I'm there beside you both getting ready, giving you a pep talk or a story to ease your nerves before your first look, and I'll totally take a shot with you during reception 😉.
