It has been brought to my attention that many are complaining about how long it's taking to get photos back from the softball and baseball seasons this year, that "so-and-so got their photos back from another photographer two weeks after they were taken." Let me explain a few things:
This year has been the busiest ever: 30+ teams, over 300 orders, and well over 1,000 photos being printed. But I don't just take the photos and send them to print. I edit every single photo I take that will go to print. That fake tattoo on your kid's arm that you don't want in the photo? Yep, I take that out. Lens glare from glasses? Yep I take that out too.
Not to mention the PERSONALIZED custom memory mates that I MAKE MYSELF for every single person that orders one. Or the pose your child wants that has smoke in the background or of them throwing the ball in the air. It's not just snapping a photo and sending to print; it's HOURS of editing to make them as perfect as they can be, to splice team photos together because one kid is looking one direction and the other is picking his nose. Do I have to do that? No, but I am not one to give sub-par work and I know how it feels to get bad sport photos so I go above and beyond to make them spectacular.
Everyone is more than welcome to go to another photographer but don't expect the same quality, the same special treatment of allowing people to order a MONTH after I've taken photos or special photos taken between friends that I would give FOR FREE at the end of the season. Plus, every year I give ALL of my edited digital copies to those who ordered. I don't think many photographers do that.
I am only human and I can only do so much at once; I do have kids and other obligations. I forget things and make mistakes. If you cannot understand that, I don't know what else to tell you except that you will get your photos; you can always guarantee that.
Also, I have to add this:
Please don't lie and say you messaged me and I never responded when you either 1) didn't message me at all or 2) didn't message me a question that warranted an answer.
To give you an idea of some of the processes that go on prior to photos going to print I have attached unedited photos, photos that had to be spliced together, and photos to add people in.
