I was inspired by the amazing photographers that I used for my own kids' newborn sessions. Those first few weeks of life are such a blur and so important to document. Usually, clients contact me in their third trimester, or sooner and let me know their due date. After the baby is born, we select a date for the session, typically within the first 10 days of life. After 14 days of life, we tend to r

un into common newborn issues, like baby acne, or colic, and, they just don't sleep as deeply, making newborn sessions a little more challenging. On the scheduled day, I always recommend the parent(s) dress cool, because we will keep the room VERY warm (about 82-85 degrees) to keep the (mostly) naked babe comfortable. And, I also recommend the momma bring snacks/drinks if she would like because the session could last up to 4 hours. Why so long? Well, because the tiny human is in charge of the session. If he/she gets hungry, we stop, they eat. (I have both a bottle warmer and a nursing pillow for your convenience.) Some babies take a long time to eat, and that's ok. We want their bellies nice and full so they take a nice long nap. Once we get baby fed and settled, I go to work. You don't have to bring any props or clothes, unless you have something special you would like your new bundle photographed with. I do request parents bring diapers/wipes and a pacifier, but if you forget (you know, mommy brain), I have these items as well. Within 7-10 days (but usually sooner) I will e-mail you all of your images and you are free to print or share them as you wish. I decided to do my photography business this way for a reason. I don't want to force you to buy specific sized prints or packages that don't work for you. This way, you decide. You want a large canvas? You wants wallet sized pictures or birth announcements? Of course, I am more than willing to help you order these items from my favorite printing service, but you are free to order on your own as well. If you have any questions feel free to contact me. Yes, yes that is a stuffed penguin in the family portrait! Did I get some shots without the penguin? Of course, but I love this one because it captures life at this stage. The stage where the little guy perfers to bring his penguin everywhere. The stage of life where we do silly things to get the kids to laugh. The stage of life that won't ever be just like this again.
Always a treat to see this family, through all their stages of life. ❤️
