Portage Canal Lift Bridge (Houghton-Hancock Bridge) connects Houghton MI and Hancock MI over Portage Lake in the Upper Peninsula of MI. The bridge opened in 1959, standing 55 m tall and 150 m long this is the world’s heaviest and widest double-decked vertical-lift bridge.
