Today I photographed this beautiful couple's wedding.
Something I haven't done in years.
And honestly?
It couldn't have been a more beautiful reminder of what marriage is actually about.
The original plan was an outdoor wedding on top of the bluff.
The weather had other ideas.
So this morning, on the morning of the wedding, everything changed.
The location changed.
The plan changed.
The timeline changed.
But the purpose didn't.
Two people still showed up ready to choose each other.
And somehow, despite the changes, everything came together beautifully.
I remember the bride saying, "So many things just fell into place so perfectly today."
And they did.
But as I stood there listening to their vows, The words they used, the intentionality put into each one.... I couldn't stop thinking about something.
Life is unpredictable.
Plans change.
People grow.
Hard seasons happen.
Dreams evolve.
Unexpected storms show up.
Sometimes literally....
And the couples who make it?
They're not the couples who never face challenges.
They're the couples who keep choosing each other through them.
Their vows tonight like I said were intentional.
Full of heart.
Full of commitment.
Full of love.
The kind of vows that make you stop and listen.
And I found myself hoping something for them.
Not that they have a perfect marriage.
Not that life is always easy & not that every day feels like today.
But that years from now, when life inevitably throws them a rainy-day version of their plans and things get really hard...
They remember the promises they made today.
They remember why they chose each other.
They remember that marriage isn't built in the big moments.
It's built in a thousand ordinary ones.
The conversations.
The forgiveness.
The support.
The patience.
The choosing.
Over and over and over again.
Marriage is one of the few places in life where you don't become stronger by standing alone. You become stronger by building together.
And if these two continue to live the vows they spoke today...
They are going to build something really, really, special.
Congratulations to the newlyweds. ❤️
I am honored to have been a part of your day!
