The rest of the residents at Point Mouillee. Pied-billed grebe, a red-winged blackbird holding down the reeds, mute swans with a cygnet, and one very dramatic killdeer.
That killdeer was squawking and dragging a wing like it was hurt — turns out that's the act. Broken-wing display to pull us away from a nest we'd wandered near. Worked.
Had the whole place to ourselves. The fish flies at dusk were brutal, though. Mosquito head net earned its spot in the bag.
