I’ve been sitting with these for a long time.

Photos with soft edges.
Notes in handwriting I can still hear.
Names that built me before I ever knew them.

These are my people.
My blood.
My river.

And I don’t want them to disappear quietly.

So this is me starting something new.
A way of telling their stories out loud.
Of taking what’s fading and giving it a future.

I’ll be sharing the matriarchs and patriarchs who came before me.
Their faces. Their hands. Their lives.
The small things that say everything.

I’m turning these relics into keepsakes like
videos, prints, stories, pieces you can hold
so one day my children, and their children,
can know who they come from
and feel it in their bones.

This is just the beginning.
There’s so much more to tell.

Magnolia & Marrow is still in its beginning.

That means I’m building, listening, refining,
and sometimes choosing story over structure.

For a short season, I’m opening space for a few sessions that are not about price first. They’re about possibility.

If you have something that feels important—
a person, a place, an heirloom, a story—
and your budget doesn’t match the weight of what you’re carrying, I still want to hear from you.

I can’t hold every story at once,
but I’m making room for a few.

If you feel like your story belongs here,
send me a message and tell me what you’re carrying.
We’ll see what can be made.

Early chapters get to be generous.
And they get to be intentional.

I thought I’d give you guys a little insight to the name I chose to bestow this business!

I didn’t choose the name Magnolia & Marrow just because it sounded pretty.
I chose it because it already belonged to my life.

Magnolia is a quiet nod to the business my dad started over 30 years ago, Magnolia River Company. A nod to the man who had a vision and chased it and turned it into something that fed his family. It’s also a nod to the river my parents grew up on, and their parents before them. A place that held childhoods, stories, work, rest, and becoming. Magnolia, to me, means roots. It means something planted long before I ever arrived that still shaped the way I stand.

Marrow is the part you don’t see.
The center. The substance. The thing that gives strength to what holds everything else up.

When I say marrow, I’m thinking about the people who came before me—
the hands that worked, the women who carried, the stories that survived even when no one wrote them down. I’m thinking about how deeply I feel connected to people I never met, and how much of who I am came from them anyway.

Magnolia & Marrow is about legacy, but not in a loud way.
In a quiet, steady, bone-deep way.

It’s about honoring what we come from.
What we carry.
And what we will one day leave behind.

This name is not branding to me.
It’s inheritance.

I don’t always know what something means when I photograph it.
Sometimes I just know it feels like mine.
These are a few of those from a recent trip.

Stitched Through Time

Within these pictures, there are four blankets, sewn decades apart.

The first made for a baby girl long grown. The second crafted by that girl's mother, now at her eternal rest.

The third and fourth sewn by the girl for two small children who carry all the hope of the women before them.

The stitches speak the same language-textures blended, patterns intertwined-each woman creating warmth in her own way, yet somehow mirroring the ones who came before.

Each one saturated with the same prayers: be loved, be safe, be warm.

And then: a little girl's hand on the oldest blanket. Touching fabric her great-great-grandmother chose, never imagining it would one day rest beneath the fingers of a child born generations later.

Because daughters begin long before birth. Each of us once carried within another, nested inside a lineage we could not yet name.

These blankets are the evidence, soft, worn, and sacred.

Legacies made not from grand gestures, but from thread and time and the tender persistence of women who stitched love into something that would outlast them.
