I’ve been getting this question a lot lately:
“Do you offer in-home newborn sessions?”
The answer is no — and that’s a very intentional choice. 🤍
Newborn photography is incredibly baby-led. I may have a plan when you arrive, but your baby ultimately decides what works that day. Sometimes that means changing the setup, switching wraps, adjusting posing, adding another layer for warmth, or completely pivoting from what I originally envisioned.
In my Vacaville studio, I have everything I need to do that.
I can control the temperature so baby stays warm and comfortable. I can create consistent lighting regardless of the weather. I have plenty of room for my equipment, and my entire collection of wraps, outfits, props, backdrops and accessories is within reach.
Doing the same thing in a client’s home would mean bringing a LOT of equipment with me — while still not knowing exactly how much space, light or temperature control I’ll have when I arrive.
And there’s another benefit: you don’t have to prepare your house for me. No cleaning. No moving furniture. No worrying about whether your home is “photo ready.” You simply bring me your baby, settle into the studio, and I take care of the rest.
I also know Vacaville can sound far when you’re coming from the Bay Area. But over the years, families have traveled to me from Gilroy, Redwood City, and even Reno, Nevada for their newborn photographs — along with so many families who make the drive from less than an hour away.
For something you’ll keep for the rest of your life, a little drive can be worth it. 🤍
