I’m excited to share that my piece Run / Repeat has been accepted into the Dune Birds in Art juried exhibition, part of the Indiana Dunes Birding Festival celebration of the incredible bird life found throughout the Indiana Dunes region.

Run / Repeat features a Sanderling darting along the shoreline of Lake Michigan — a familiar and joyful scene along the dunes.

The exhibition will be on display May 8 – June 5, 2026 at Ancillaerie Art Gallery and Framing, 109 S. Calumet Rd, Chesterton, IN. (Note the exhibit change of location for 2026).

Gallery Hours:
Tuesday – Friday: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Public Reception:
Friday, May 15, 2026
6–8 p.m. CT

If you’re attending the festival, visiting the Dunes, or just looking for a lovely spot to enjoy beautiful art, I hope you’ll stop in and see this wonderful collection of artwork celebrating our region’s amazing bird life.

It was such an amazing day at the Dunes State Park on Tuesday. The stillness and beauty took my breath away. I know these are a lot of images, but I just wanted you to see what a spectacular place DSP is in the winter.

A small junco was hunched on a cold evening among twisting branches of our Contorted Filbert in the backyard. In this composition, I wanted to explore how real and abstract forms can gently overlap. I thought the muted colors and shadowy lines formed by the trees in the background reflected the still, contemplative moment.

A gift from my sis and bro, Judy and Dick, these tulips were quickly fading in their forced bulb arrangement. I couldn't stand to see them go. They brought so much joy on these cold, snowy days. I captured them to hang on to a promise that spring will come to those who are patient!

Great Spangled Fritillary Butterflies were spreading their wings on the Great Marsh Trail last year. They hatch in the fall, overwinter and then take their first bites of food in the spring. And I think winter is long and hard!
