A couple weeks ago I randomly took my boys to the beach on a whim. No big plan, no reason really— just one of those “why not?” moments.

It sparked something in all of us.

The kids were lighter, happier, more alive. I felt it too. Somewhere between the sand everywhere, the laughter, and watching them experience something new, I realized how easy it is to get trapped in the routine of everyday life. The schedules, the work, the responsibilities. Before you know it, you’re just moving through the days instead of really living them.

This year I told myself I wanted to live more intentionally, but that can actually be really hard to do. Sometimes spontaneity feels inconvenient. But I’m starting to think those unplanned moments are where the good stuff lives. The moments that wake something back up in you creatively, emotionally, even spiritually.

So I made myself a little goal: do something new or spontaneous at least once a week. Even something small.

Posting this beach session felt fitting because these photos carry that same feeling to me— freedom, movement, connection, being fully present with the people you love. And maybe that’s what I want more of this year. Less autopilot. More living.

The Macuiba wedding was just a really good day.

They’re two of the kindest people, the details were stunning, the ceremony was iconic, everyone including grandma was on the dance floor—just a lot of genuine happiness and a ton of people excited to be celebrating them.
