70 years. Imagine everything a person sees, carries, and lives through in 70 years. The sadness and the sorrow, the joy and the laughter.

Every sun spot. Every smile line. Every soft wrinkle around her eyes. They’re all little pieces of her story.

I didn’t even plan to photograph my grandma yesterday. I was taking pictures of the kids and thought, what if I just grabbed a few quick studio portraits of her? Just five minutes.

So we did.

My toddler was running wild behind me. My infant was crying. It was chaotic and quick and imperfect.

And now I wish I had taken longer.

I wish I had photographed her hands. The hands that have worked, held babies, cooked meals, and loved people for decades. I wish I had captured more of her expressions.

But even these few images mean everything to me.

I will cherish them forever.

So this is me begging you. Document your grandparents. Document your parents. Just them. A simple black and white series that honors the life written on their faces. Because now I want to do this for every grandparent of mine and my husband’s.

And if enough people love the idea, I would offer grandparent minis in a HEARTBEAT. Let me document them for you. PLS.
