I still want to run away more often than not. I thought the desire would dissipate after crossing the intangible and illusive threshold of adulthood, but it’s still here. The thrill of the unknown, the potential to keep finding myself over and over, even the disappointment of discovering firsthand how much I’d romanticized it all. It’s worth it.

Beauty is actually less in the eyes of the beholder and much more truthfully nestled cozily between oneself and their projections. No looks, good looks, bad looks.... none of that matters after the first split second. The beholder only gets to decide if the being they face has a surface beauty based on their own biases. It’s up to the beheld to act and project upon the beauty they feel inside and THAT will determine their overall “appeal”.
This beauty shines inside and out, from the first glance to the last. Proud to call you a friend, woman.

I cannot thank this girl enough for her good cheer and flexibility. A good model to a photographer is like water to a camel. I, as a photographer, find my expression through photography extremely cathartic, and almost meditative. It's calming to me, satisfying, and more than anything, makes me feel like I've made my voice and feelings heard, and unless I'm shooting buildings or products, I can't accomplish that without a happily willing subject. So grateful to know this beam of sunshine.

I believe it’s important for women to take pictures of themselves frequently. Even if they’re not a photographer at all, and even if they don’t know any photographers. Don’t shoot with other people, just take your fine self, a $15 phone tripod from Amazon, do yourself up in your Sunday’s best, set the self timer, and start expressing yourself! Feel every ounce of your beauty and potential. Make the best / worst / silliest / sexiest faces you can imagine. Pose however the f**k you want. And if you want to share the pictures later, feel free to do so because what’s the worst that can happen? Your body and beauty won’t change because some people thought the pictures weren’t good.

I always underestimate how hard my self portrait session will end up being. Mostly for the running back and forth to make sure I got it the way I wanted it, but also for the expression - it’s hard to stay in the mindset and think of what I want to think of when the shutter closes.
I still love it though.
