A single Vehicle accident on John Brown road just North of Union Pleasant Road happened at around 2:10pm. The Convoy Fire Department and EMT squad responded to the scene.
It appeared that the driver went left of center and drove into a roadside ditch. The drive did not
appear to be injured. The vehicle was removed from the site by Hague towing. The Ohio State Patrol investigate the accident.

A two vehicle accident occurred today at around 1:20pm at the intersection of N.Washington and Brooks Ave. No injuries were reported. Moderate to heavy damage occurred to the car
while light damage could be seen on the Jeep. No details were available at the scene.

This is not an official accident report.
Wren, Willshire and Ohio EMT squads were dispatched to a Semi truck and trailer and a pickup truck accident in Wren.
A pickup truck was heading east at the Wren Landeck and SR 49 intersection in Willshire. The pickup then pulled into the path of
a south bound truck and trailer. The semi hit the drivers side of the pickup truck sending it into the park on the SE corner of the intersection. The driver was unable to get out of the vehicle and rescue squads used power tools to get him out.
Hague towing removed the semi from the scene and Straightline Body and Paint removed the pickup truck.
The accident was investigated by the Van Wert County Sheriff's Dept.

The Middle Point Fire department was called to the scene of a pickup truck fire at around 6:22 pm Tuesday evening.
It occurred on US 30 East bound at the Lincoln Hwy exit ramp. The driver reported that while driving he noticed smoke coming out from under the pickup bed cover. When opening
the cover flames broke out. The driver suspected it may have been a battery operated tool battery that caused it.. There were no injuries but the truck was a total loss.

An early morning two vehicle accident sent one person to Ohio Health Van Wert. The call occurred at about 6:20 AM in the 1100 Block of East Erving road to a two vehicle accident.
Van Wert City Police were on the scene within minutes followed by the Van Wert Fire department rescue and EMT unit.
The driver of the van was transported to Ohio Health Van Wert with unknown injuries. Apparently the driver failed to see the recycling
truck picking up curbside recycling in time to get stopped.

A two vehicle accident occurred at Jennings and Middle Point Road intersection at about 3:20 pm. It appears that the red car was northbound on 116(Jennings) and the south bound car on Jennings turned to go east on Middle Point Rd. One person was injured and taken to Ohio Health Van Wert. The Van Wert Sheriff's Dept. Investigated the accident and Hague Towing removed both vehicles from the scene.
