It was a really fun day working with photographing Pierce College Glacier Building project which houses the college’s Dental Hygiene and Veterinary Technology programs. It provides state-of-the-art learning spaces for students pursuing careers in these fields. The building also includes a dental hygiene clinic that provides low-cost services to the public, along with facilities for animals under the care of the veterinary technology program

This West campus of Pierce College used to be called Fort Steilacoom Community College. I in fact have fond memories of attending FSCC back in the early 80’s 😬 Soon after the Board of Trustees decided to change the name to Pierce College to better reflect the fact that the college served the entire Pierce County area.

Exterior shots showcase the metal siding, whose design concept was to connect the interior to the natural environment outside…reflecting the surroundings of this local area. The dot perforations on the exterior panels reflect the Gary Oak tree and reference the ‘Gary Oak restoration project’, a joint effort with Pierce College and the City of Lakewood to reinvigorate the tree, indigenous to this area.

The glass artwork in the atrium is by artist Guy Kemper and is titled “Fly Away”

The newly renovated -orthopaedic-center in Centralia, Washington now features bright, modern, and patient-focused interiors! We were incredibly proud to photograph this impressive transformation, showcasing the thoughtful design that went into creating this updated space.

A huge shout-out to for their exceptional design work on this project, and to for their incredible contribution to the interiors!

Orchestrating light to sculpt form at the beautifully renovated Green Lake Library. Timing was everything for this shot – waiting for the precise moment where the natural light would reveal the textures and volumes of BuildingWork Architects’ design without the harsh backlighting of earlier hours or the obscuring shadows of late afternoon. Much like a portrait artist shapes a face with light, capturing an exterior like this requires patience and a keen understanding of how the sun interacts with the architectural surfaces. More stunning historical projects coming soon.

✨ Fresh energy for a historic brick 🧱 building! ✨ We photographed 📸 the HDC Waterfront located in the heart of downtown Gig Harbor, a very cool adaptive reuse project for Darrin Filand of and others. Planned the shot early before the crush of visitors arrived with a very fun group of models...who enjoyed a few taste offerings along the way 🥃😇 Models are essential in bringing a space to life. A glimpse into the future of healthcare. 🏥 Thrilled to share the first look at the new Hope and Healing Clinic in Tumwater, WA. This needed facility, designed by and will provide essential healthcare services to our community. The clinic aims to provide a holistic approach to recovery, addressing the physical, psychological, and social aspects of addiction. A special thanks to everyone who brought this project to reality. Industrial Dawn 🌅

Here’s a rare glimpse into a world that never sleeps. This is a serene dawn image high above the new WestRock Corrugated Box Facility in Longview, Washington. I spent a couple days here covering this new plant that produces corrugated boxes for the likes of Amazon, UPS and many others. Built by Clayco and designed by Lamar Johnson Collaborative, this facility sprawls over some 410,000 square feet. Safety was TOP priority while working our way through our shot list. Can you guess what was my biggest challenge I faced on location? 🤔 Thanks for the great project Shannon!

PASSION FUELS PURPOSE 🔥
This past last month I finished photographing 📸 ‘Lotus Court,’ a beautiful Low Income Housing Institute project located in Olympia, Washington, providing 64 units of supportive housing 🏡 for formerly homeless seniors, including those with disabilities and veterans. Carefully navigated late ‘punch’ and open-house challenges but the final results were worth fighting for. Always a pleasure working with Eric Blank, Sharon Lee, and all the folks at LIHI. Fora Landscape Architects also did a beautiful job with the grounds!
