Good morning and happy Monday everyone!

I hope you’ve all had a fantastic weekend and are ready for the week ahead.

A huge thank you to everyone who tuned in to one, or hopefully both of last week’s LIVE streams from London Heathrow. We were treated to two brilliant sessions packed with great aircraft, interesting weather, go-around galore and fantastic chat throughout. The streams are only as good as the community that joins them, so thank you all for helping make them such a success.

Don’t forget, we’re 🔴LIVE on Saturday this weekend (not Sunday) from London Heathrow after having some time at both Bristol and Birmingham this week (which didn’t disappoint).

Looking forward to a 12:00 GMT departure at LHR.

Following the Heathrow show, if we have time, as I’ll be picking my wife up from her flight into Luton, I’m hoping for some late arrivals/departures during golden hour as well (if I can).

Watching the The Boeing Company wing flex looks completely unorthodox, but infact, it’s perfectly normal. They can bend as much as 25ft and during flight around 15ft.

The 787’s wings are made primarily from advanced carbon-fibre composites. Compared with traditional aluminium wings, composites allow:

* Greater flexibility
* Lower weight
* Improved fatigue resistance
* Better fuel efficiency through a more aerodynamically efficient wing

Once there’s no lift required for flight and spoilers are deployed, they form a more horizontal stance as you can see with these two Dreamliners landing into Birmingham Airport.
