I literally squeal when a mom walks into my studio with her wedding dress for her newborn session.

There is just something so sweet about taking a piece of her love story and creating something beautiful with it for her new little love.

BUT this dress was amazing...it practically stood up by itself. The second I pulled it out of the dress bag my artistic brain started imagining what I could create with it.

This is the part I love about photography...not just taking a picture but creating a piece of art and telling a story.

AND as always baby is completely safe in my studio. This is a composite image--two separate photographs carefully merged together in photoshop to create the final artwork. Baby is never placed in an an unsafe position or left unsupported.

Backlight images seem to make everything dissapear for a moment. The soft light creates a feeling where the details don't have to compete for attention.
It's just them. Their love. Their connection. Their story.
The way dad looks at the mother of his child.
The way mom looks at the father of her child.
The soft kisses.
The way they look at their sweet baby girl.
The connection.
And honestly, these are the images you will want to have for years to come.
These are the images that will take you right back to this moment...how tiny they were and how it felt to hold them for the very first time.

Backlit images will always be a favorite of mine...it takes away from all the busy--the props, the colors, the distractions--and brings the focus right back to where it needs to be...the connection and the love❤
With backlit images the soft light wraps around the subject to create an image that feels peaceful, timeless, and almost dreamy.
