One of my favorite foodies, Andrew Knowlton, shares one of my same pet peeves about dining out:

"Nothing is more tiresome than listening to regional zealots claim that a particular area’s specialty can’t taste “authentic” outside its birthplace. Is Southern food better in the South? Perhaps, but often it has more to do with the setting, the diner’s expectations, and the fact that the person you ordered it from called you “hon.” I’ve had incredible Sichuan dishes in Houston and lousy ones in China. The point is, great food is about ingredients and ex*****on, not location. Let’s say we drop this whole authenticity nonsense and grab some amazing Neapolitan-style pizza—in Phoenix."

Hi friends! Pregnancy is the reason I've dropped off the face of the earth. I'm almost 12 weeks and I've been mega-nauseous. I literally hate food unless it's a specific thing that sounds good at the time: Carl's Jr, imitation crab salad, crackers/cucumbers/cheese, snow cones, Cream of Wheat, Arby's fries.... I'm somewhat avoiding my favorite places while I'm sick for fear of never liking it again. A few more weeks and this nausea should wear off and I should be back around. Bare with me!
