Our Story

As you get older and as society changes you have to adapt and reinvent yourself. After "retiring" for 5 years around 2012, I've returning with a different emphasis. While I still shoot the selective assignment, most of my “photography time” is devoted to education, mentoring young photographers, and the Reenactors Project that I started in 2016, and the Chasing Light project that I began in 2018 - shooting landscapes with medium format, black and white film.

On the “Chasing Light” project, I’ve heard so many people comment “If only these walls could talk” that I’ve begun writing stories based on the photographs - which is how I became a photographer. When I was 10 I wanted to be a writer; around 1976 I thought if I could take photographs of places, then I could use those photographs as a starting point for the story. It’s taken me 40 years to return to, as T. S Elliot wrote in “Little Gidding” that place where I first began: “We shall not cease from exploration And the end of all our exploring Will be to arrive where we started And know the place for the first time.”
