There's just something about the design of classic cars...

It's always nice to find a nice little surprise when out on a photo walk with my students. This classic beauty was waiting for me parked across the street from my class at Tidewater Community College in Downtown Norfolk, Virginia.

Nice to have so many photogenic subjects within a short bike ride of home.

Just a short jaunt chasing the light this morning. There are many little surprises all around if we just take a moment to look.

This is my third year shooting this, and I honestly feel there are few good angles to shoot from, leaving many of the images flat.

It took several drive-byes, over the last few years, both on bike and car, at different times of the day before I finally figured out this image.

I've been intrigued by this magnificent statue at the Tidewaters Memorial Veterans in Virginia Beach since I moved here. It took me a very long time to find the right angle and time of day, to capture the cool, calming effect of the repeating lines. Today I finally figured it out!

I've always enjoyed photographing sports, especially surfing, where you have a chance to capture some dramatic images.

Got a little distracted while shooting the surfing competition this afternoon. This Boat-Tailed Grackle kept jumping up and down in front of my camera.

While waiting for the bus to get to Norfolk, I saw this amazing light being reflected from the building and the water, but of course didn't have my camera. On my next day off, woke up early to return to the Virginia Beach Convention Center to capture the facade in during the golden hour.
