Lately I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting on life while staying warm through this winter. Somewhere between cups of coffee and watching Downton Abbey, I heard Mr. Carson say, “The business of life is the acquisition of memories. In the end, that’s all there is.”

It stuck with me.

It’s reminded me to be more intentional about planning experiences, slowing down, and really soaking up the moments that make up our days as a family. The ordinary ones, the adventurous ones, and everything in between.

That’s also why photography means so much to me. Long after the season changes, photos are what bring those memories back…the way it felt, not just the way it looked.
