A romantic proposal under the stars during Sequoia Parks Conservancy’s Dark Sky Festival 💫✨

R planned their first-ever California vacation, including a Disneyland trip, before surprising L with a trip to SequoiaKingsCanyonNPS. L knew the proposal would be happening this weekend, but not where or how.

L loves astronomy, so a proposal during the Star Party was the perfect time and location. 🌌

The night was chilly, and the anticipation of such a special moment made the air feel all the more brisk.

Under the Milky Way, and lit only by a beam of red light, R got on one knee and asked L for his hand in marriage. 🥹

From there, we made our way down to the Giant Forest area of the park for more photos under the stars and among the giants.

It was a stellar (😉) evening, and I am so grateful to have been part of it! 💍

Surprise proposals in Sequoia National Park are one of my absolute favorite milestones to plan and photograph.

I work with the proposer to choose the perfect location and plan an engagement session for after the big moment. For this proposal, the couple met me at sunrise, and I pretended I was a guide who would be showing them around the park.

The proposer asked if I would take a quick photo of them, and right after I gave his phone back he got down on one knee and proposed!

From there we visited some iconic spots in the Crescent Meadow area, including a hike to the top of Moro Rock.

It was a beautiful morning exploring with these two!
