Mount Calm City Park In Mount Calm, TX

I took the time to really study the nature around me. Mount calm, Tx is my home town. I love doing nature shots with water around. Water really makes it reflect and it's like your looking in a mirror. So not only do you capture the sky once but you will see it twice due to the water reflecting the nature around and above it.

Photo of the Day

601 Franklin Avenue, Downtown Waco

Equipment: Canon EOS 6d; Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM; no filter.
Setting: f/16; 1/400s; ISO 100; RAW
This was my first walkabout with my new (to me) camera. I had decided to go downtown to look for subjects, but the streets were practically empty. The weather was cold and clear, and every shot I took on the sunny side of the street had extremely hard light lines. When I got to 601 Franklin Avenue, it seemed to me that the white facade provided almost perfect contrast, especially with the classical architectural detailing. Also, I liked the the rhythm provided by variation in the window blinds. Rather than try to take the whole height of the building from an angle, I decided to face it directly from the front, and let the 50mm get what it could of the top half. (The bottom half of the building is less visually interesting anyway.)

💡 Key Tips for Stunning B&W Shots:

🔦 Master the Lighting – Soft light = timeless elegance. Harsh light = bold & moody.
🖼 Textures Matter – Patterns, details, and depth stand out beautifully.
🖌 Editing Tip: Increase clarity & contrast in post-processing to enhance depth!
