Dear China Spring,
When I decided to take photography & videography seriously my junior year of high school, I never imagined it would grow into this. What started as a creative outlet quickly became one of the biggest blessings of my high school experience.
From FNL to yearbook trips, senior sessions, sports media days, and everything in between, thank you for trusting me to help tell your stories.
When I look back on high school, some of my favorite memories will be walking into Cougar Stadium on a Friday night and barely making it onto the field because I would get stopped by so many familiar faces along the way. To me, that represents exactly what this community is about. China Spring has been full of people who have supported me, and I have been blessed to grow up here.
Along the way, I gained so much more than experience behind a camera. I gained friendships, memories, and opportunities that most high school students never get to experience. Our yearbook adventures in the school’s Wagoneer and all of the late nights spent together will always be some of my favorite memories. To our yearbook sponsor, Mr. Riedell, thank you for the late-night Jeep drives (especially the ones where we didn’t get back until 2am), for believing in us, helping us to learn and pursue our dreams.
To the coaches, teachers, staff, and community members who trusted me and gave me opportunities to create, thank you. And to my mom and dad, thank you for supporting this dream from the beginning, investing in my equipment, and always encouraging me.
As I walk the stage tomorrow afternoon, this chapter may be ending, but this definitely isn’t goodbye. In the fall, I’ll be attending Texas Tech University to study PR and continue pursuing the dreams that China Spring helped inspire in me. The content may include a little more red & black, but I’ll still be around. For my China Spring sports fans, please go support and by giving them a follow! I’m excited to pass the baton to these girls, and I know they’re going to continue to do amazing things next year.
