Same gig, new rig! Everyone, meet Inky.

Beacon gave me a new truck. And when I say new, I mean there are parts of the interior that still have protective plastic to peel off. The sleeper is bigger, and the truck is a lot more advanced.

Someone from Volvo actually had to come show me how to use some of the truck features before I could drive it.

My old truck had reached the end of its life, at 447k miles. They had to retire her.

Sometimes, you can do everything right, and still wake up to a truck that looks like this. Someone hit my truck while I was asleep. Somehow it didn't wake me up.

I reported it to my company, and they said not to worry about it cuz the damage is purely cosmetic. I guess my big girl will have this scar from now on.

Stuck on the shoulder of I-55 in Mississippi, waiting for a service truck to get to me. Blew a tire, and the shrapnel from the tire cut an air line on my trailer.

If you ever see a vehicle of any kind pulled over on the shoulder with hazards on, just get over and give them some space.

This especially goes for a truck, since our vehicles usually fill the entire shoulder which means we have to walk in the traffic lane to go to the back on the truck. I almost got hit so many times today just cuz jackasses couldn't be bothered to change lanes.

Got loaded up with bricks today. First time being loaded at a shipper that wasn't a warehouse dock.

Well, the winter storm got me, too. I've been stuck at a truck stop in SE Missouri for 2 days.

Tried to head out this morning, but I'm stuck in my parking spot, so I have to wait until conditions improve more.

The truck stop I'm at ran out of diesel yesterday, and they can't get trucks here to refill.
