Y’all don’t know how hard it is to pick photos for these posts. When designing IG carousels, some of my faves just don’t fit the layout. When the lights go down, the energy goes up! and .cook40 ‘s favorite people kept the good times going from the time the dance floor opened till we sent them off in a shower of sparkler glow. (And can we mention how fantastic of a job Michael with did with the lighting for this reception?! Soooooo good!

I had the honor of witnessing not just one beautiful marriage over the weekend, but two. And what an honor it was, being present for Marina and Diego’s celebration.

We began the day with a quiet, heartfelt first look in what would become their home together by the end of the night. No fanfare, no audience, just the two of them in the foyer, backlit by the bright grey of an overcast day. Once I had them in position, I nearly had to chase Marina down the hallway as she skipped to Diego — no hesitation, only excitement to finally share this moment with him.

We used the warm, ambient light of their cozy home and the adorable front stoop for a few portraits before we headed to the church. The vibes in there were so fun, and I couldn’t resist a few kitchen table formals, because why not?

There's some things I notice and understand more deeply at weddings now that I'm a mom. The way the bride's hand grips her dad's arm as they walk down the aisle, it being their last together just like this. The way the whole room is looking at the bride - except for the groom's mom, who's taking one last long look at her baby boy as just hers. This room was full of such joy, such happiness and anticipation, and I'm so thankful I got to witness it.

And PS: if you saw me crying too, no you didn't.

We made our own sunshine on Saturday! 🌞💐🤍

The start of .powersss and .cook40 wedding day was colorful, giddy, and full of sweet moments with family. The threat of rain wasn’t getting us down, and I really believe our collective good vibes kept the storm at bay long enough for these moments to play out so, so perfectly.
