In preparation for Halau Manaola multi-city tour of Japan — including their participation in Ike Pono Ma — had the honor of photographing Hālau Manaola as they embodied story, genealogy, and artistry in every breath.

The due date is upon us, and the world is ready to welcome this new baby. This is a baby that’s very special to me, I photographed this mother throughout the past decade of her life, her successes as a young dancer to a representative of the island, and now into motherhood. It’s been an honor to capture these precious moments for you, Jeanne.
