Three reasons why Maui is annoying.

Hear me out.

First off just let me say, the birds. Aggressive.

They’re not out here chirping “A dream is a wish your heart makes.” No. They out here throwing a whole ass music festival right outside my window at the crack. With a rooster MC’ng, birds crowd surfing my lanai and Mina birds with mad squabbles bouncing the door.

It’s a quarter to six in the morning and I’m front row to a squawk battle.

It’s a lot.

The rainbows. Double? Really? Flexin hard for no reason. Is that even necessary?

Not one, but double cheeked up, and deadlifting the horizon like it’s nothing fam.

Bruv, what are you trying to prove? Even on a clear day. Like wtf? Where you source your precipitation from bruh?

Lastly, the silence. After the amazing sunset subsides, la de dah, and the tourists are snoring off their Mai Tai’s. That’s when it gets creepy.

You would think the quiet would save you here. Nope. That deafening silence sets the stage for a horror movie every night.

That breeze tiptoeing through my place like it has unfinished business with me and I swear our ice machine is on that B&E tip a thousand times a night. Which got me looking for Michael Myers in a Hawaiian shirt wearing a haku lei.

Truthfully, I love everything about this island and the absolute joy I feel when I am here.

I just wanted to give you something funny to read while you dream about being on island.

My posts can be a bit melodramatic.

This feels more like me.

More lived in.
